Hi guys, I'm Brittney and I've had Curly Tails Crochet open for a little over a month. I've had one sale so far and less than 200 views, and I was wondering if you guys could give me a little critique of my shop! I'm working on retaking some older pictures, and I'm in the process of changing tags and titles, but I wanted to know what all of you thought! Thank you so much for your feedback (:

I checked it out and "hearted" your shop. I think we are in about the same boat. If you check out my store Royalbearbling ... I think I have "photo" issues but compared to others I've seen I think we are getting there! We need to keep in mind there are (don't quote me) over 800,000 sellers on Etsy so I just think a lot has to do with being persistent, using tags correctly and "getting found". Good luck! Hi Julie and Britney - I visited both of your stores and 'hearted' them! I think the photography could be improved upon in both to show the items at their absolute best. You both have great products but photography I think is key to getting more likes. I think having a consistent background (plain as possible) and natural light on a cloudy day and never use flash is the advice I've heard. I would welcome any comments you have for me as it feels like an uphill battle just to get seen (let alone a paying customer)! Thank you and good luck with it all.

Love your shop! (the dog stuff is adorable) my advice to you is: some of your older pics maybe need a bit more lighting to make them look as best as they can be. Good luck!

Thank you Clare and Sue! Appreciate the feedback I'm learning every day but had my first "review", from my first sale, come through today! Was thrilled to get a 100% positive review!! Working on the pictures thing. Full time grandma/babysitter here and seems like I always take them at night so I'll try your suggestion soon. Thanks again everyone

Hello Brittney,

I am also new to Etsy and i just opened my shop a few days ago. I love your items. Your banner is great.
I think you could work on the exposure and contrast for your photos. I use IPhoto on Mac. It's easy and quick. Also for the Poop bag holder, I would add more photos... (you could use an actual poop bag or the bag roll inside the crochet bone to show people what it is exactly. Visual works better than words. I try to use the 5 photos for each listing. Just a suggestion...
