For now I have just been pinning my designs on Pinterest but that's about as far as my social networking has gone. I have also posted a coupon code onto my personal facebook page and asked a couple of my closer facebook friends (and possible customers) to critique my shop,
On Monday, I'm focusing on social media so I will be setting up a business facebook account and going to all of your pages with my personal facebook account to like them.
I was also thinking about researching Tumblr. Have any of you used Tumblr?

I haven't used tumblr before... I'm fairly new to the whole social media thing, but it appears that it definitely drives traffic to our shops... Have you had much luck with Pinterest? Please feel free to share with us any info you find on tumblr :o)

I've had some views from pinterest but I think it's mostly been my friends checking stuff out. None of my pins have been repined yet though. Maybe it just takes time. I'm just going to pin all of my new listings from now on. Tumblr is confusing to me. I'm going to have to play with it a bit I think.

There's a couple of apps I'm going to look into as well that allow you to track your pins I think even after they get out there! Also, I know you're still building up your inventory, but once you get a full page, let me know... There's a very active promo team that does etsy and viral promotions.. They require at least one full page of items but as soon as you get there, i will send you an invite :o). (That goes for anyone else who is interested too!!)

Just a suggestion...for those of you giving your pinterest account, I will happily go on and repin your items to get you more exposure but I need to know what items are yours. I got Jewelry by Jamie but others have lots of boards. Just let me know what board contains your items and I will happily oblige!

I think you guessed it because I saw you did some repins (thank you!!) but my main board is the one labeled as Dapper Cat Designs Etsy Shop (or something close... My tablet and I are fighting now and it won't let me on Pinterest).

Also, somehow I got invited to a guest board for etsians so if you post some links, I will happily share your items and repin them to a more public place :o)

I liked a bunch of your facebook pages, thanks for the tip on using my main account to like things. I just started Pintrest today so I'm going to wait until I figure it out a bit more before linking it if thats ok. I use tumblr all the time, but I mainly post my designs on my personal blog though I've been thinking of having a separate shop only blog.
Have any of you had luck using twitter?

I didn't set up a pinterest account exclusively for my shop. I'm still considering it, but I have so many followers on my personal account. Has anyone noticed any advantages to having a "shop" pinterest account?
