Shop Help

I figure since we are all new at this Etsy game and looking for assistance, I would start a thread where you can offer your shop up for suggestions without having specific questions. So far, this team seems to have a great bunch of people, all with different strengths and different areas of focus! If you know your product is great (like we all do!) but feel you aren't getting enough traffic, views, or whatever, feel free to ask away and we can all take a look and offer any suggestions!!

I would be more likely to click on the first photo - the mesh ruffle option. I think it may be because it looks more artistic and that's what I typically gravitate towards! :) Both scarves look great!

I like the first one too. I'm a fan of a closeup to show detail. The title is clear, and likely if people are finding through search or browse, they know they are looking at scarves. :)

Thanks Mama! I went ahead and changed everything to the close up....not sure if its helping yet, but fingers crossed :o). Is anyone else feeling like they are not getting found?! I have noticed more than half my views come from within my shop. Don't get me wrong, that's great, but I'd rather have 50 people look at one item than one person look at 50... (And even better 50 people looking at 50 items!) I asked in the forums if anyone had any suggestions for my tags or titles or anything to help me get found, and all they commented on was my shop name, avatar, and banner not relating to knit or crochet things. Maybe I'm strange but when I shop I search for items, not shop names, so I don't really see how my shop name, avatar, and banner would bring in more people to look at my shop... Any thoughts on this?

I agree. I don't think they would effect views. If I'm looking for a scarf, I'll type in a description of the scarf I want to find. Maybe they couldn't find anything wrong with your shop and felt they had to say something.
I suppose, if your shop name did have certain key words it may show up (a little) more in search, but most of the shops (including mine) seem to have pretty random names and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I wouldn't worry about it.
Oh, and cats do relate to knitting/crochet....they do love yarn anyway (and everyone knows that) :)

I like the first photo as well. Who would have thought that it'd be so hard to take good pictures of things?
I feel like I've been getting more views overall, but those views aren't translating into sales. : / I'm trying to figure out when I should advertise.
I agree with Kristin. If I'm looking for a scarf I'm going to search for a knit scarf or a crocheted scarf.

Would you say people are buying on Etsy for gifts or for themselves? Also if anyone has suggestions for me I could really use them.

I don't know for sure, but I've always assumed its people buying gifts and buying for themselves.

I've been on Etsy for about three months now. With help from teams I have many favorites and views on my items, but no one seems to be interested in actually buying them. I could use some suggestions on what I should do to encourage buyers. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem I'm going on 6 months with 7 sales looking for some advice? I recently added some cheer items also, concerned about prices too, any halo would be lovely! Ty
