Welcome

Hi there,

Welcome to your team's own personal forum! This is your place to facilitate constructive communication within the team. It can serve as your team's main discussion hub, or a place where you post announcements every so often. You must follow the http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#community_forums_chat_vl'>Etsy Forum guidelines when posting in the Teams Forum, and make sure that you are familiar with the http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#community_teams'>Teams DO's and DON'Ts.

Even though teams are run by volunteer members of the community, all of Etsy's site policies still apply to team members and activities. However, Team Forums are moderated by the team leadership, not by Etsy Admin. Check out our http://www.etsy.com/help/article/340'>Forum Moderation Guide to learn how Team Forums should be governed.

Although you can chose whether a post is public (viewable by anyone logged in to Etsy) or private (visible only to team members), please consider the Team Forums as public spaces and remember to treat one another with respect.

Now it's time to start talking with your team!

Best,

Morgan and the Etsy Community

Re: Welcome

A tip is to have a big inventory. Make sure you have a lot of stuff up for sale.

Re: Welcome

Hi! I just opened my shop two days ago and would love some feedback from the team as to my shop appearance and info,

I only have 10 items posted because I'm in the process of switching seasons.

Thank You!

Re: Welcome

Hello! Just started as well. I was wondering if anyone has thought about using pinterest. I've seen some linked, but I wasn't sure if I should use the pinterest I already have, or start a new one just for my jewelry.
Also, kind of the same thing for facebook. I see a lot of people say to use it to promote, but I think maybe it might seem sort of spammy to use a personal one. I know anytime I hit a FB app it seems to spam and irritate people more than inspire them to look at something.
Also, Petalsandbows, I LOVE your purple harvest wreath, the picture of it looks great!

Re: Welcome

I made a treasury with items from your shops. I thought it would be a good idea for us newbies to make little treasuries with each others items from time to time.

Re: Welcome

As we are all new to etsy, I thought maybe an explanation of why I made a team treasury list, and how it could work in the team. (Feel free to disagree in your replies.)

First of all, I'm sorry I didn't feature items from all of your shops, but treasuries only contain sixteen items.

If you all try to like the list, and share it with your facebook and twitter followers, even if you are not featured, then next time someone makes a list for our team, you might be featured, and everyone else will share that treasury list with their friends.

And just for clarity, I didn't feature myself in my own list.

Re: Welcome

Well, as far as Pinterest, I have a page already set up for a little while now, but I've only pinned from others. I've seen some treasury lists pinned, so the idea that May had could go a step further because we can pin that.

I'm just going to pin my own show items with the link back to my etsy page. I just wasn't sure if anyone else had seen any response/views from it, but Deanna said she had.

Re: Welcome

Sorry for the double post, but for Deborah, I forgot there are links next to your item here at etsy to promote to pinterest. So, if you don't have one, you can just go to pinterest.com and sign up for one. Then while your logged into etsy next to the item you want to promote on there, you can just click on the link. There is a drop down for which category that you want it to appear in. Super easy!

Hey everyone! I just joined Etsy a few days ago and would love and value feedback of my shop as well and helpful hints to get more traffic to my shop. What has worked for you and what to avoid.

Re: Welcome

May-Lill: I use facebook! I created a separate business page and have promoted it but had more luck with just posting a link to the page and inviting my friends to like my page. So I wouldnt promote it on facebook from personal experience. It only got me 6 likes...not worth the 9$ I spent!

Re: Welcome

Does having a separate facebook page even do anything at all though? I see a lot of people who create them, but they don't ever seem to drive any traffic or interest? Anyone have a different experience there?
I agree though Lisa, I can see just sending links out to friends on your personal page to start, maybe word of mouth from there would help.
I didn't know what they were until May posted one!

Here is the treasure list -

I'm still kind of figuring out how to do it myself.

And here is my pinterest page

Re: Welcome

Treasury list: Go to the front page of Etsy and in the left sidebar, near the bottom, is a headline called More ways to shop. Click on Treasury in that menu, and you will be taken to the Treasury page. To make your own Treasury list: in the right sidebar on that page is a link called Create a list. The rest in then pretty intuitive, but you will need to find 16 items that go well together in some way. It is not considered good etiquette to feature your own items.

In the sidebar of anyones Treasury list, you can like the list, share it to Facebook and Twitter and such.

At the bottom of a treasury list you can comment on the list.

Doing these last things will often help the shops that are featured...

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask, but I'm not sure I know more about these lists. ;-)
