I am new to Etsy as well as being a small business owner. I am having a problem getting my name out, finding shows, all of that.

What are you guys doing to promote yourself?

Good Afternoon. One of the things that I am doing to get my shop notices is cross marketing on the social network sites that point potential customers to my Etsy Shop.

I have a FB page and a Twitter to help promote. I just don't know what to do to physically promote. I also have a website, but I think I am gonna let it go for right now. Etsy provides a lil more than the website.

Trying to find crafting shows in my area is kinda hard.

Good Morning. I don't have a FB I just started with Instagram. Try starting a IG page where you post your products and remember to use plenty of hashtags. My IG is essenceaccessories

I'm having the same issue as Zee! I'd love to promote my shop on Etsy by simply joining teams and getting my shop "out there" any ideas?

I have opted not to go the method of a website also because the community that is here of shoppers and buyers. Do either of you have IG accounts?

I am thinking of taking the "resin" out of my promotional material...even though I put resin over my designer plaques, when I had my website independently reviewed, the reviewer mentioned he would tell people about my site if anyone mentioned they wanted a resined plaque. Now I don't think the resin part is helping me out.

Hi guys! I do not have an IG. You know I thought about getting rid of my website, although I love it and I put alot of work and time in it.

What I was thinking about do was to get in a show and just go with the flow, ya know. Get a tent and of course some other things and just do that.
And I think I am gonna do "Promotion Day"... 2 days out of the week to walk around and pass out fliers and cards

HI Florence, we are new too! Try this for starting a new thread: Go to Community then Teams. Once Teams opens up, you should see the name of our team "New to Etsy - Waiting on Success"… click on the name of our team. Then on the right you should see "create a new thread."

Treasuries are amazing for promoting your Etsy shop! If you want to promote your shop outside of the virtual world, I would recommend going to groupon.com and looking for a Vistaprint deal. I purchased one for $27 (though I have bought them for $17 before) and got a $70 voucher! You can use it for anything on the site but I used mine for a vinyl banner.

Getting your name out there when you haven't already had an online following seems to be very difficult for us. Maybe enlist the help of your friends on Facebook, or others you have met through blogging?

We've been in the local craft show scene for a while now. We started with one, and then made friends with other booths who told us about other shows they attend. It's really a trial & error process to find the right shows for your shop.

Also, check Etsy Local to find some shows in your area. We just recently discovered this, which links to your Etsy shop too.
