When did you get your first sale?

Hi fellow newbies!

I just set up my shop a couple weeks ago and am still waiting for that first sale. Being an (overly) ambitious person, part of me hoped the sales would start overnight, but obviously that's not very realistic (magic beans, anyone?)!

How long did it take you to make your first sale (if you have - if not, how long has your shop been up)? And how do you keep yourself motivated and not get discouraged?

Trying to stay positive and patient! Thanks.

Re: When did you get your first sale?

I got my first sale 2 months after opening. I make knitted hats, scarves, and baby headbands. I am now offering soaps as well. I opened my shop in November and didn't have very good pictures so by the time I was able to upgrade. The winter holiday shopping season was over. People tend not to buy winter accessories after Christmas. So now I'm advertising my baby headbands and soaps.

So I guess what I'm saying is it depends on what kind of items you make, soaps and usable supplies tend to sell fast while gifts take a while because they last a lot longer.

I have only sold 4 items so far.

I opened in May and still waiting for that first sale. I have been working hard at promoting, hopefully it takes off soon. I just keep on designing and being patient!
