Promotion, Teacosies and..er... stuff...

Hello Monster Lovers, welcome to the Monsters and Animals Team!

Apart from the obvious fun of looking at everyone's monster products, has anyone checked out Knitnax's monster teacosies? BRILLIANT! .. anyway another reason I started up this Team was that I pretty new to this and am trying to find good ways of promoting my stuff. Business cards? Blogs? Shameless self promotion? Grafitti? any advice?

Thanks so much for the mention. I think monsters and aliens are just so much fun!

As far as promoting.....I carry business cards with me and hand them out to anyone interested in knitting, monsters/aliens, or tea. I don't really blog at all but I do have a Facebook page for KnitNax (which I should probably use in a more useful manner). Finding folks in ETSY with items for sale or with favorite items which are similar in taste to your own and then adding them to your circle helps get you more exposure. Shameless self-promotion is always good (well, within reason). I hope that helps.

Have you tried creating any treasuries? I've found that's a good way to get exposure. Every time I create one, my visits increase (on google analytics - another useful tool). I also agree that a Facebook Page is a must have, especially if you have the time to update it once or twice a week. Another good tip is to list new items on Etsy as often as you can. Either that or renew old items.

I also find the Etsy Sucess newsletter really informative. And you could always join the Etsy Sucess Team? Hope this helps. x

That's great - thanks - I hadn't thought of treasury lists! I have been adding people to my circle like mad (I feel like a crazed stalker befriending all these people I don't know!) but it's helping. Will do some relisting too. These tips are great! Thank you all xxx

2 new prints! I would love more ideas to promote yourself etc! Treasury challenges might be cool to add to this group? Where we pick a theme each week? like a color theme or something? You add at least 6 people from our team and then other people on etsy so you get a mix and get the stuff out there? Just an idea!
