Question about a custom order

I had a lady contact me and wanted me to make 12 of my patchwork dresses for her. I gave her a really good deal, I'm not making a ton. I told her I would need half of the payment before I started, that was a week ago and I haven't received payment or heard from her. She wants the dresses by the 15 th of March. I'm just wondering how long I should give her to make a payment before I just say forget it. I've tried contacting her quite a few times and haven't heard anything. Just wondering what you guys thought.

Re: Question about a custom order

I wouldn't stress about it. You told her your terms, which are completely reasonable for that quantity. I would reach out one more time and say something like "I need payment by (this day) to start work, otherwise I won't be able to fill your request."

I know how frustrating it can be too. I tried to order some doll clothes for my daughter for Christmas. The last I heard from the shop I contacted was that the dresses were finished. After that, nothing. I checked a week later, shortly before Christmas, and there was still nothing listed for me in their shop.

Hope all works out

Re: Question about a custom order

I told her if I don't hear from her by tomorrow morning I won't be able to do it. I figure if they give half payment before I start they are more than likely to follow through and pay for the rest. I also figured if they are really wanting these dresses they would be getting back to me right away.
