Welcome

Hi there,

Welcome to your team's own personal forum! This is your place to facilitate constructive communication within the team. It can serve as your team's main discussion hub, or a place where you post announcements every so often. You must follow the https://www.etsy.com/help/article/4536'>Etsy Forum guidelines when posting in the Teams Forum, and make sure that you are familiar with the https://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#community_teams'>Community Guidelines.

Even though teams are run by volunteer members of the community, all of Etsy's site policies still apply to team members and activities. However, Team Forums are moderated by the team leadership, not by Etsy Admin. Check out our https://www.etsy.com/help/article/340'>Forum Moderation Guide to learn how Team Forums should be governed.

Although you can chose whether a post is public (viewable by anyone logged in to Etsy) or private (visible only to team members), please consider the Team Forums as public spaces and remember to treat one another with respect.

Now it's time to start talking with your team!

Best,

Morgan and the Etsy Community

Re: Welcome

Hi! I'm new here and would love any advice I can get on starting my shop! I sell handmade ceramics that I throw on the wheel. It would be very encouraging for me if this ball started rolling. I welcome all advice, tips, and help! Heck! If you want, you can even buy a mug or flask! ;)
I hope to here from other new people! And I want to see your products! https://www.etsy.com/listing/285696009/whiskey-cups-handmade-woodfired-pottery

Re: Welcome

Hi Kelsey,

Welcome to our team! You have very nice ceramics. I would have uploaded more items. I started my shop from 30. Taking pictures is also very important. Maybe more pictures with someone holding a mug. Brighter backgrounds and more atmosphere. Like here https://www.etsy.com/se-en/listing/258833576/coffee-mug-meh-funny-quote?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_se...

Its better if all pictures in your shop have the same style, same feeling, same light.

Its also better if the pictures all the same size: it has to be 1000 on 800 pixels. You can use 150 resolution. 72 is too low for some new screens.

Item titles and descriptions: What you write in your item title has to be in the first lines of item description. For example:
Title: Whiskey Cups-- handmade & woodfired pottery
Description: These Whiskey Cups are handmade from earth clay....
Whiskey Cups should be in tag words as well. Than you can search on what page you are in search results. Tipe Whiskey Cups in etsy search and see where you are. If you are not on 3 first pages, work on your description and title. Sometimes it can help to write this kind of title: Earth clay cups, Whiskey cups, wood fired cups.
You can look in to forums that explain how to write your item descriptions: https://www.etsy.com/se-en/forums/search?search_query=seo&search_type=title_and_post&search_sort=rel...

Hope it helps! I wish you a lot of sales! :)
