Hi all! Great thread idea.
I average 50-100 views a day (I get a LOT of variation), until we get to Halloween, then it all goes a bit nutty. I also had a blog feature once that resulted in nearly 4000 views in 48 hours - and not one sale!!!!
Renewing something daily makes a huge difference. If I don't renew, some days can fall to as low as 30-40 views. A new item works the same. But then make sure you post it in the forums!
Etsy makes your listings more visible if you have over 50 items in store, but have now changed how many items are on your first page - which makes me wonder if the new goal post is 60 items??? Not sure on that one.
The more links to your page, the more 'visible' it is to search engines. The more traffic you get from outside the site, the more Etsy seems to like you too. So a FB fan page - or links to your items on your personal page, blog features, etc seem to help. (There are even some sites that let you list your store for free). It all helps while you are building your 'brand'.
There ARE some great, successful Aussies out there - see Big Dreams Embroidery or Cabbage Patch Custom Creations - both part of the Victorian Australian team.
The other thing I would recommend, is find your strongest competition, like them, then check out their tags for ideas. :D
