Not sure why handmakers would have to make in quantity to benefit from this arrangement. I can see how some airbnb owners who want to create a unique ambience might turn to Etsy as a source.
I can also see how some vintage sellers might benefit, too - where 'period, characterful' properties are concerned.
All in all, I see this as a step for the good; one of Etsy's better moves of late - although we jewellery makers probably won't see any sudden upswings as a direct result of it.
