Etsy did not include the last sale I made and shipped on time, on Dec. 29, within this review period, which left me at 94.4% and missing out on the badge that I worked hard for! I am very frustrated. I know many people say that the badge doesn’t mean much, but it was a goal that I worked to obtain, and I feel cheated with no way to ask Etsy to review it. Has anyone else experienced this? Why would an order have been left out of the stats if it shipped on time before the end of the review period?
How to contact etsy support for sellers-
There is a direct link to the support ticket page in every shops shop manager - Just go to Shop manager > Community & help > Contact us
That will open the page to start a support ticket.
Once there select 'selling on etsy' then select issues.
Depending on the issue, they offer email, phone and/or chat support. Note that the phone support option recently changed to a request a call back system. There is no direct number sellers can call for etsy phone support. You can only request that they call you back.
You will need to click around a bit to get to the actual page with the contact options and at times it feels like endless maze loop of clicking and getting nowhere other than faq's that do not address your issues. You will need to get creative and click on options that may not match your issue completely.
When you see 'I still need help' at the bottom of a page then click that....it will take you straight to the page with the available contact options.
Keep in mind that the phone support and live chat folks are just a call center and can only handle a limited list of issues. Everything outside of that they will bump up the support chain to someone who works for etsy proper to handle. Live chat and phone call back are only available sometimes it seems and the availability changes throughout the day.
Remember...the key is to click 'I still need help' when you see it.
Did you use tracking?
Hi, yes, I did.
Tracking? When did you ship the item? Was it accepted by USPS or in other words in transit? It's not enough to have tracking. The package has to be in the hands of USPS.
If the information shows that the package was placed in the hands of USPS and in transit by the time your processing time frame ends, take a screenshot and send it in to Etsy with request to review.
Did you also meet the other criteria? 10 sales and $300. If you missed either one that can hurt too.
Yes, I included tracking, and the item was accepted by USPS and shipped on Dec. 29. I met all other criteria.
Could you tell me how contact Etsy to send a screenshot? I cannot find any contact method..

I also have issues with the star seller status. I refunded the postage on a customer who ordered twice and because I didn’t have tracking info on the second postage refunded order I was marked down. Other issues as well which I won’t bore you with here. I complained loudly in a recent survey. Hopefully they have listened
If two separate orders are shipped together, just add the same tracking number to the second orders shipping confirmation screen.
Yes. I missed the very first month because I didn’t have a tracking number for a local order that I personally delivered. I notified Etsy about it and they just told me that they were working on adding an option to say that the item was delivered in person. But it wasn’t fixed and I didn’t accomplish it in September. And yes, I also have noticed that there’s a cut-off time that does not get till the end of the period, and the very last sales or messages are not accounted for. It is frustrating.
Thank you for your response! It’s good to have someone empathize with me!!
In my opinion, star seller is a manipulative game. Sellers ought to always do their best and realize reviews are subjective and often times based on the buyer not reading descriptions. I have had my emotions whipped around regarding star seller because I try hard. I refuse to let it get me down anymore!
I agree on this one completely. To be judged on the *certain number of period* is not fair without proper judgement of the individual cases. For example I'm right now on a break but I never close my shop ever. What I do is is change my ship by date and send notices to customers about it giving them an option to cancel and get a refund within 24 hours. My sales are good and only 1 cxl in Dec. But my 100% on time dispatch has dropped to 75% which does not make sense when I change the ship by date. Plus I've got 7 orders missing tracking info but these are custom digital orders which they had to pay for and provided the products within 48 hours. I can't do the pdf without payment. Because I marked it shipped without tracking this is what happened. Safe to say, I'll never get the star seller badge due to all this scenarios.
I like your take on this! Thank you!
i dont' want to be dismissive but why don't you focus on more meaningful goal?
Thank you, however, this isn’t the only goal I have in my life or for my business. It’s only a small one that I had hoped to attain.
The last few days of everything (reviews, sales) haven't been showing up on my CSVs. Even when I ship with tracking and, in one case, the item was received all within those last few days. They show up for the next month.
Hi! Did you get your issue resolved? If so, how?
My last week of messages wasn't included this month and I'm unsure why.
"Star Seller Sadness"
Star Seller Madness!
Yes!!!
I need to comment on this one too. Etsy did not calucate all of my reviews that were made From Dec 28-Dec 31. There was a total of 29 reviews that were not counted in the total which would of increase my feedback up 2 % more. That 2% can make a or break a shop especially when customers will not read the listings or we get punished for an opinion such as statements " I wished the product was...(fill in the blank) when we did not advertise it that way. I have heard others calculations are off so I would report it.
I thought we were to ship items based on what we advertised...not what one wishes the item would be. Degrading shop owners for customer opinions is bad business
If you think customers don't read listings (a lot don't) you can be sure they won't pay attention to a tiny badge.
I’m with you in this, SilverCityBeads! All I’m asking for is accuracy on the stats!
I just discovered that Etsy removed my star seller status because I did not respond to an automated message from ANOTHER seller that my package would be delayed. I answered every other inquiry on time, but apparently I am supposed to respond to the news that someone else will be late with an order of MINE. Incredible, given the work I am doing to respond to customers. There seems to be no way to ask Etsy to review this policy.
Yes I got a NO for not reply to a Invite to Join a Etsy forum group...nothing to reply to and it gave me a NO
The other NO was for a customer I didnt respond withing 24 hrs and shows I waited 5 days...not correct
Their star system is so flawed..
