Odd message from Etsy on New Feature on Etsy....Rounded Prices

Did anyone else receive this message from Etsy?  It came in on my conversation page.  To my knowledge, we haven't received the email that Etsy is referring to and I see no settings/etc. that relate to this.  I also don't have any announcements on my dashboard that it is referring to.  I'm assuming its something new they are testing, but not sure why I received this message and no others regarding.

Hey there!

We recently sent you an email about a new way you can make your prices more appealing to shoppers. Turn on rounded pricing and we’ll automatically round up your prices so shoppers see a visually appealing number when they’re shopping in their own currency.

Etsy’s research* shows that shoppers are more likely to purchase items with a rounded price that ends in numbers like .00, .50 or .99. Soon we’ll start showing shoppers these rounded prices to see how many more sales sellers make.

To sweeten the deal for you, we’re offering you 10 free listing credits when you turn on rounded pricing in your shop. This special deal is just for you and it’s only available until August 26, so turn on rounded pricing now!

Get started today to have your listings included in our buyer test. Check out your shop dashboard for more details.

Best,

The Etsy Team

*Based on an analysis of listings sales data from sellers who did not use USD as their shop currency who converted their prices for US buyers checking out in USD between August 2018 and August 2020.

I got a shop announcement and the email about rounded prices but I wasn't offered 10 free listings. Humph.

That is a weird message, to say the least! I have not received this, despite having all of my item prices end in a 2-digit decimal number, on purpose! Maybe it is not true anymore, but someone told me not so long ago that having the prices set up this way is actually favorable in search. Hmm.

At any rate, I am curious what other think about this one.

I think ANY time you let Etsy have control over anything in YOUR shop it’s wrong and leaves you open to Etsy screw ups

Yes, I got it but ignored it. As my listings are in $AUD (in whole dollar amounts) and I am only sending within Australia at the moment it's irrelevant to me.

I got this too. Did you notice that the research was done based on sellers NOT SELLING IN USD!? They didn't publish their findings for sellers already selling in USD because most sellers already use rounded pricing. Non-USD converted to USD will have random numbers at the end. So, it makes sense to have the rounded option. For USD sellers does this really matter or will the round us when showing our pricing in non-USD to non US sellers?

Why is time being used on this...so many other site issues! Wait, this brings in more money...
