My descriptions have vanished - they are nowhere on the page. Just a huge white space. Is it just me? I do have another Etsy shop that is fine, and when I search for and open one of my OomiZoomi shop listings from that browser, there is no description that route either. Is it only a glitch?
Edited to add omg I found the details arrow under the big pic.
There is another thread on this. The descriptions are now in a dropdown menu just under your photo. Check it out.
it is awful as a buyer. wtheck Etsy, why do you make it so hard to buy things...
The least they could do is put Item Details and shipping info in a bright bold color like Orange, since they are so fond of it. Buyers would def. not have to hunt for too long if they did this.
I thought they were done with that test. (Shakes head sadly and walks away.)
When was the first time they fiddled with hiding descriptions? Was it in March when soooo many shop owners feel the sales crashed for them? If so, this does not bode well for us.
They've been fiddling with descriptions and their location for years.
@dayspringcollectible It’s the hiding of the description that’s the problem. I only recall this happening this year. Even shop owners like me were confused.
I also think it was back in March or so, and they got a lot of negative feedback in the forums about it.
Seems etsy is trying this silly experiment again. Makes the site look like Macy's, Home Depot, and other big box retailers.
If it was hard for me to find the description, and I've been a shop owner for years, I can only imagine how hard it is going to be for the customers to find it.
Surprise, they're back !
Mine aren't.
Remember back when they said they wouldn't run tests or make changes during the holiday buying season?
So much for their word. It can just about be predicted with assurance that when we should be having periods of good sales, they are going to do something to mess things up then.
