Hope I put this in the right forum
I got the following email from Etsy for this shop (I did not receive it for my second/new shop) and I am concerned. Did anyone else get this?
Besides adding products, I have not changed much. I don't know what would be considered false or misleading after all this time. I can't imagine what it could be if this was sent to me specifically & wasn't a mass email. Text from the email is below. Hopefully everyone got it & I can stop worrying :).

I've got the same Email and it did scare the hell out of me! I sell a lot of wool clothes, but NONE with cashmere. I was like: what? what? Didi I mention cashmere in my shop! It's good to know it was more a general thing and not a targeted thing on my shop.
GOOD GOD. Etsy, I though I had complains filed against me!
it would be nice if they would say something to the affect that "this is a reminder to all Etsy shops....bla blah
It's because Etsy is in the middle of a lawsuit from some board to do with Cashmere that is suing them for showing counterfeit cashmere items.
Of course they take action when it affects their pockets.
I also got this letter. Wondered why???
I also received this email from them and am concerned just what the heck they are talking about! I also hope this is a blanket - mass email as there is nothing specific about my shop mentioned.
Probably IS a blanket email, but NOT a cashmere blanket email!
Must be a blanket email... I've never had cashmere in my shop, and I got it also!
I have a plaid fabric that is named "Cashmere Blue" so after getting the email I changed the name to just "Blue". I thought maybe someone who bought a pillow in that fabric thought they would be receiving a blue cashmere pillow. I am glad it was just Etsy being Etsy and not a complaint.
I just received this email as well, and have never used the word cashmere in my listings or shop before.
Me too - I weave merino wool or cotton and have never used cashmere. It is good to know that this email has also been sent to other shops who do not have the word "cashmere" in their listings.
@PlanBeeHome This thread explains the likely reason for the email:
Thanks. I don't even work with that. I guess anything that mentions fabric got the email because I have a second shop that is currently only selling mugs & didn't get one there. Thanks so much. I'm relieved others got this.
Actually ev erything I make is fabric (cotton) and I did not receive this email so I don't know HOW they are sorting who they send to
Wow…! In all of the above shops, I see only a single vintage sweater and the seller includes a photo of the tag which lists the content of the fibers as “double ply cashmere”. Weird.
I have not received it. Etsy could be sending it to any shops that sell clothing/fiber art etc or have sold it at any time in the past.
I did not receive it and it has been out over 24 hours now so I think if it was going to ALL who sold fabric items I would have it by now. Who knows what Etsy does--they do not even know themselves!
Yep, I also received this email about 33 minutes ago...freaked me out!
I don't offer any type of "cloth" products at all...Vintage/Antique Delftware, Ceramics, Porcelain, etc.
Based on everyone's responses here and in the Cashmere link, seems like a massive email.
I didn't think it was a phishing email 'cause of the "noreply@etsy.com."
I gambled and clicked on the link "terms of use" and it sent me to Etsy's "Prohibited Items Policy."
Per another reply above, I too thought perhaps a hater out there had made a complaint of one of my items, ha!
I'm now taking a Pain Pill and calling it a day, ha! (250am CHST, ha!)
Peace everyone!
Same here, the reply email would normally show if it is a scam or not
I got that too, not for this shop, but my 2nd smaller one. Nothing cashmere, or with that term, I do sell woven cotton blankets but mostly it’s stickers, wooden hand made ornaments and tees.
Hate emails like that with no real hint as to what it is they are targetting in your store, it just comes across as threatening which is not cool!

I received the email. I sell a few products that I used the term Cashmere Suede as the scent. I don't want to change the name so I will have to see if more action is taken on it.
I also received the email, I sell sewing supplies and patterns, not cashmere. I hope it's just a reminder to everyone.
I was so worried about this! I sell candles and one of the scents is described as cashmere. I sent them an email about it and everything lol.
Yup same here, “cashmere plum” scent.
