This was on my dashboard this morning.
In the last year you processed 100% of your orders on the weekend. Now you have the option to update your processing schedule to include weekend days, showing shoppers faster delivery in some cases with little or no change to how you work. Etsy shoppers have shown they're more likely to buy items that ship faster—even if it's only by one day!
Thanks Etsy! I won't get anything done today thinking about all the things I'd do with that $12.00.
what you going to spend your new fortune on?
I don't even know.
A Cadillac?
A yacht?
My head is spinning.
Carton of eggs and a gallon of gas.
LOL!!!
With all the tests they're running - why would we add weekend shipping to absolutely no sales? Is Etsy blaming us for no to few sales on our shipping times? Just wondering.
Nope, but I believe this is Etsy's way of transitioning us into counting weekends as processing days. First they tell us it will make us more money. Then they will count the weekends. So a 1 day shipping time bought on Friday will need to ship Saturday. Or if you have a 2-3 day processing time something bought on Friday will need to ship on Monday, not Wednesday as it is currently.
I got a similar message - a little more than $12, but still such a small amount it's hardly a windfall.
Mine said "In the last year you processed 99% of your orders on the weekend." What does that even mean? Of the orders received on the weekend, I shipped 99% of them? Printed them? Or just looked at them? I definitely receive most of my orders during weekdays, so it can't mean that I receive 99% of my orders on weekends.
At least Etsy was considerate enough to allow this one to be X-d out, so I don't need to be reminded for weeks.
Nested completely in the wrong place - AGAIN!
This does not make any sense. I process and ship my orders every day of the week, including weekends. Someone please explain what this means.
Exactly my thoughts, I didn't even know what processing my orders on the weekend meant! And I was afraid to click to find out. Not clear at all etsy & I don't know about others, but I can't ship on Sundays if that's what they want - the post office is closed. So unclear.
Etsy only considered M-F for shipping. What they want us to do, is allow them to make the adjustments for us, (if we receive an order over the weekend) to the next business day......from what I read. I have been doing this myself by contacting my customers with the correct updated shipping date. I do not trust Etsy and its coders to do anything correctly. My luck, they would mess it up and I would get dinged for late shipments. Fix what is broken before you start something new Etsy.
Wow…compared to the additional $3.00 I’d get you’d be rich! Lol! WTH IS this? They said I processed 100% of my orders on weekends….um….nope….wrong! I feel sorry for the poor computer geek who had to collate this inane, seriously ridiculous, useless information. And THIS is the type of garbage Etsy chooses to fixate on? Somebody’s fiddling while Etsy is burning.
Every day is a weekend in Brooklyn.
I got a popup the last time I listed saying my postage cost of 6.00 was too high. I've sold literally thousands of similar items. They cost 5.85 every single time. I don't know where they find folks to come up with this stuff. I'm guessing they use a time machine because most of the stuff they are trying were once failed experiments on eBay.
Even if you charged $0.01 Etsy would think it is too much...
I think I've had that same pop up forever, I don't even really see it anymore.
Since Josh is from eBay where he failed, your post makes since.
the USPS has been discussing for awhile the elimination of weekend delivery.....if only they would just show buyers what they want to find, maybe it could yield you more than 12.00 extra dollars a year.....just saying....
I'm grasping my pearls, it's life changing!!
Just how did you do it?! Mine is only $7.
Wow..you might be able to buy a coffee with that! Score!
That's the amount they quoted me also! We're rich!
You really shouldn't tell people how much money you'll have, they'll be lining up outside your door wanting to borrow some! (snark)
can I borrow 10.00?
Mine says £10.23! And no I don't process 100% of my orders on the weekend. I process them as they come in and post the next day regardless of the working week. So that's either worded badly or just plain wrong. Who comes up with this stuff?
I appreciate what they are trying to do but since there's no post on a Sunday and I always miss the Saturday morning collection, I can't see it making much of a difference.
