How to make your name into a clickable link on Facebook

By now, most of us know that we should be "liking" other Facebook business pages with our personal pages in order for them to "count." But then, how do you let others know what your business page is without looking "spammy" by posting a great big link on their wall? You can turn your page name into a clickable link like this: Start typing your message on their wall ("HI from your newest fan at ....). Before you type in your name, put the "@" symbol right before it. A drop down box should show up; when your name appears in it, click on it and then finish your message. After you hit "share", it should be in blue.

Don't forget to "like" from your personal page or it doesn't "count" and many people get annoyed.

Can someone explain to me what you mean by it doesn't count if you like someone from your page rather than your personal profile.

...why is it annoying? I find fb very confusing at the best of times.

You can also type @ and then the first letter of your Page (example - d for digitellstudio) the window will also appear. Hi from @d... (window will pop up to select) then you can keep typing and not have to go back and put the @ in front of you Page name.

Wallcakes, only personal pages add to a business page's count (" x people like this"). When a business page likes another business page, it doesn't add to that count. This is especially important in the beginning when we're trying to get to the all-important 25 fans. You can have 50 businesses liking your page, but they won't increase your official count.

Some people don't like when other businesses put links on their wall. It seems a little spammy, especially when the other person is only liking your page in order for you to like them back or to get a little free advertising.

I had no idea that a business page didn't count towards likes.

A couple of years back , I unliked the majority of pages I had liked because of how clogged up my feed got. I was happy when I heard that FB now allowed likes from page to page, so I started my own page.

I'll have to think about this.

It's very frustrating! I'm not sure why Facebook does it this way. Not only do they not count as LIKEs, but there's no way of finding out which business pages liked your page, as far as I can tell. I do hope they change this, because I would rather be able to keep my business page and my personal page seperate.
