So how was September?

It was an interesting month for me. Number of sales was the lowest since May, but revenue was the highest since May. If I could combine the highest volume of sales with the highest average months purchase price that would be nice.
Gradually looking at reducing the existing range and introducing new items so we will see how this progresses over the next six months or so.

Anybody else seeing movements in the volumes they sell and / or revenue achieved?

Re: So how was September?

July is always my best month by far, September revenue has been about a third of that. Actually, I'm almost coming into my worst sales period now. October is usually OK, but then nothing much happens until about March. Oddly, May is usually a good month for me too. I've tried to make sense of it till I'm blue in the face, but there really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it at all. I've been self-employed for 20 years, so the patchy income doesn't bother me, but while I can find patterns there never seem to be any reasons behind them.

Re: So how was September?

September seemed quieter but appears to be about the same here on Etsy so maybe other custom orders were down but expect them to pick up now as Christmas decoration order start (Just in time!!).

Funny how it does dip now and then - I find the dips aren't as long now though :-)

Re: So how was September?

Both August and September were good months for me locally. Not Etsy, although I've not been listing as busy with the bm shops and on-line selling is a mystery to me that I've not mastered!

Re: So how was September?

September was a good month for me (at last). Etsy was quiet, until the last few days when I had 2 sales that counted. Did a trade event with another team. Waiting around at 2 am for someone wanting to swap. One "sale" that cost more in import duty and charges than I received. Interesting though.

Re: So how was September?

I had a very good September compared to last year. But that was also down to markets I had done.
October will be super, because I look forward to move from Wales to Devon!
Hope to someone from this group on one of the christmas markets.
We will be in Honiton on 17.10. in the Beehive market. Perhaps see you there!

Re: So how was September?

September was not brilliant, only 4 sales.Like a couple of others have said, May was the best month. It seems to be picking up a bit now as I've had 6 sales so far this month. (not on Etsy though).

Re: So how was September?

September has been one of my busiest months so far on Etsy, but that maybe to do with the fact that I shut for most of August due to having my 3 kids on school holidays. But then so far October is proving to be busy?
Something I have really noticed in the last few weeks is my customer base has really shifted from the US to the UK, which is quite nice and does make me wonder if more people in the UK are beginning to use Etsy?
