Open Studios in Devon. Big events & your own open days.

They say that there are more artists & craft people per square inch in Devon than any other county outside of London...
We also have quite a few Open Studio and Art Trail type events.
These are brilliant ways to get out to and see other artists, network, be inspired and encourage each other.

So I thought I’d start a thread that could be used to draw each other’s attention to such events. And even use it to inform each other that you are doing a standalone Open Studio.
Devon may be a big county, but many of us will be within reach of each other. Its great having our Etsy shops to show case our work. But there is nothing like being able to see the stuff at first hand.

These are just a few regular Open Studio events that I know about:-
Appledore (June)
Drawn to the Valley (August)
Devon Open Studios (September)

But you might not be aware the EXETER OPEN STUDIO is now taking place in MARCH for the first time! Fri 22 - Sun 24 March.
Here’s a link so you can start looking at who you would like to visit. An excellent map will be available soon.

Re: Open Studios in Devon. Big events & your own open days.

19th to the 27th of October SHAF (South Hams Arts Forum) will be running the annual Art's Trail which I will be participating in.

When there's some promo stuff drawn up, I'll post a link here.

Being a trail instead of open studios, means that I can display my work in someone else's place, which is ideal for me, as I live off the beaten track, as well as in a caravan, which could be a bit daunting/claustrophobic for visitors.

Last year was a great success. Being one of the younger member's of SHAF I get to enjoy the other member's mothering and advice. It's a great little team to be part of, and the trail is such a sociable, rewarding experience.

I think the visitors enjoyed it too.
