The Made in Devon team is a little over a year old and is still evolving...

So whether you are brand new or have been a team member a while, do pop in, say hello and tell us what it is that you do. What is it about being creative in Devon that is important to you? What would you like from this team?

This team can evolve into whatever matters to you! If you don’t see a discussion you would like to engage in – why not start one yourself! Ask questions, offer advice, get something off your chest – get involved and see what happens....

To get the ball rolling – I am Lynn, a printmaker in Exeter and part of Double Elephant Print Workshop. Mt Etsy shop is coming up to 3 years old in July. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s going – but I had v modest aims of selling one print a month, & v happy to have exceeded that. It was partly the colour of Devon soil that encouraged me to move into the area – but that’s a longer story.....

I’ve noticed this comment in the origin “welcome” thread from Ren from Fairysteps and think it would be a good idea to reiterate it here -

“For all members...

If you click on the 'Subscribe to digest' link on the left hand side menu of this page, you will receive all updates that happen within the Made in Devon team!

A great way to make sure you don't miss anything!”

BIG FAT DEVON WELCOME TO ALL.

Hello! I moved to Newton Abbot 3 years ago to bring my son up closer to the sea...we originally lived in The West Midlands.
I'm a ceramic artist, opened a shop down the road from my home in August last year, selling other artists work and hosting Artists Workshops as well as pottery classes.

Hi Pam and Pascale, welcome to the team ;)

Pascale - I doubt you will have to go far to be inspired, Devon has so much on offer - the South coast including the Jurassic coast have some great places to visit. North Devon coast is a bit harsher but still as great and of course the moors can be fantastic at different times of the year!

Hi Debs,
Welcome to the team ;)
I make soap stamps and displays so let me know if I can help - can sort out a team discount ;)

May be worth putting your social media links in your profile - it certainly won't do any harm ;)

Hello all!

New member here! My name is Kirstyn and I sell hand dyed yarn in my shop Miss Moffat Yarns. Originally from South East London I have lived in Devon for about 15 years now, first in Exeter but now I'm in the Teignmouth area beside our lovely seaside!
One of my creative resolutions this year was to try and connect with more like minded people in my area so here I am!

Looking forward to chatting and learning more about everyone x

Re: Introduce yourself & say Hello!

Hi everyone,
I'm Dave from Silverton. I am retired from my full-time work. I originally founded and ran a Giclee and digital printing business in Crediton from 2004 to 2016 when I sold the business mainly because of a health problem.
Having recovered from that, I needed another occupation to keep me out of mischief and decided to have a go at something completely different. So now I dabble in working with Copper, silver and other metals; stone polishing and cutting; and copper plating and electroforming.
I am fairly new to Etsy, but it looks promising once I can get a few more products on here and get some feedback!
Kind regards,
Dave

Re: Introduce yourself & say Hello!

Hi Everyone, I'm Crystal and opened my shop yesterday with my partner Stuart. We are in Bideford and regularly do the Bideford Pannier Market. There is a fantastic event there on June 2nd 2018 and we will be there selling our handmade fudge and handmade textile jewellery.
Love it here in Devon, have been here almost 2 years. The scenery and the pace of life is wonderful. The people are absolutely friendly, love it!

Re: Introduce yourself & say Hello!

Hi, I'm Helen. We recently (in May) relocated from Essex to Rose Ash, Devon. We've just finished the conversion of our garage into my workspace and I think i'm now prepared for Christmas. We've enjoyed visiting Devon for many years - my sister relocated 8 years ago - and it's lovely to have her within 10 minutes drive and the cousins going to school together.

I started to get busy for Christmas items at the end of August and I'm pretty sure the community post office in Rackenford has loved the extra business ;-)

Looking forward to being part of the Made in Devon Team.

Re: Introduce yourself & say Hello!

Hi I am Rory I have moved back to Teignmouth after graduating from Plymouth College of Art and living in Plymouth for the 3 years I studied, I studied Illustration and I am hoping to make a successful career out of it. This is why I thought it based to join a local etsy group, so I can meet fellow local artists and try to start creating momentum for my work. I sell cards, stickers, prints and have created some pins that I am going to put up on my etsy soon. I also have a series of christmas items that are currently up on my etsy, that I am hoping will sell.

Re: Introduce yourself & say Hello!

Hi I'm Karen,

I'm fairly new to Etsy and feeling a little lost to tell the truth! I've just discovered 'Teams' and thought I would like to join in as I don't know anyone else who has an Etsy shop. I live near Ottery St Mary and have been here for over six years now, after a spell in the South Hams, and I am loving it. I worked for many years as a landscape architect, although I did study art previously, and I now draw and paint and also make digital art (especially during the winter months when the studio is often just too cold!). I've just ordered some printing inks as I have a new project in mind and I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in.
