Networking tips

I'm very new to Etsy and lots of people are talking about the importance of networking, which I have to admit, I'm not great at!

I've not long set up my shop and still have alot of work to do to get it full, but the items I have listed havn't had many views. I get quite a few at first and then it just dies off.

So if anyone has any tips on networking, any good websites they use outside of Etsy or general advice on increasing visits to your shop, please share!

Re: Networking tips

Hi, welcome to Etsy!
I opened my shop in April and it is hard to get views and be noticed when there are so many lovely things out there!
Here's some of the things I've done which have increased my views (might not work for everyone but worth a go!)

- Add lots of people to your circle, most will add you back and get your shop noticed (I've just added your shop to my circle!)

- Get yourself a Facebook page and join a team like Facebookers on Etsy.

-Join more teams

-Do some treasuries

-Renew items on a regular basis, once they have been on a few days they go down the list when a potential buyer searches...you have to stay ahead of the game!

Your shop looks great! I wish you success with it and hope its not too long before you get your 1st sale!
Best wishes,
Lorraine x.

Re: Networking tips

Like deepblue says, join teams, interact a lot with the team members, definitely have a facebook page (and twitter I find works for me), and re-list (or list new things everyday). Sometimes the networking stuff can be hard to maintain, but you just have to stick with it and you will start to see results!

Good Luck :)

Re: Networking tips

Twitter has been one of the best things for us- we have made contact with so many goth/alternative/wedding people that way and it brings traffic to our site :) It's taken a long time for us to really get the hang of it but once you make those first critical contacts, you usually find similar in their following list :)

Good luck!

Re: Networking tips

Hi Linzilush I've liked your page and just love your cushions! (here is mine if you want to share the love! http://www.facebook.com/TheCandyTree125 )

Networking is definitely tricky and requires a lot of hard work. I like using Twitter but I think it's important to get a good balance when it comes to tweeting - don't just tweet links to your stuff as I think people get bored of that. If you mix it up with personal tweets and marketing tweets I'm sure you'll get lots of followers!
