Waxed nylon cord

Does anyone use waxed nylon cord for your macrame projects? If so, where is it sold, and what has been your experience with it as a macrame cord?

Thanks.

Re: Waxed nylon cord

My experience is that it has a lot of hold- the wax helps the knots stay where you put them-

I've always used waxed linen so I would not be able to compare. All I can say is it's wonderful to work with. It's very expensive though, $22 for a 50gms spool. At Royalwood Ltd. you can get it for half the price if you purchase a bulk supply of $100. http://www.royalwoodltd.com/

Re: Waxed nylon cord

I used waxed polyester and that works really well, tried cotton but it always unravelled. When i got started i brought a lot back from South America but now I have to order it from Spain or the US because it's really hard to find or ridiculously expensive in the UK. If you're based in the US hiloheaven is a good place.
