The carriage for my machine that I wear out with regularity hasn't been available for some time. When I knew that it was going, I bought a pile of the part that wears. That is no longer available either. My choices, spend a whack of money that I don't have on a machine or quit the biz. Sadly it looks like quitting the biz is my only option.
I have made a living doing this for almost 20 years. The work is satisfying and the response from customers gratifying. In spite of what it may appear on Etsy, I have done well, not well enough to have a couple of thousand dollars in the kitty for a new machine, but well enough that my life is covered.
I'll be starting job hunting but feel negativly about it. I live rurally, have no skills for our modern world and I am over sixty but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Thanks for the opportunity to vent.
