How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

Is there a way to transfer listings from one store to another? I hate to have to "create" all the listings again. Thank you for your help!

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

There's no way to move listings (stated in Etsy Do's and Don'ts http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483#membership_multiple_accounts). Unfortunately if you want to move listings you'll have to recreate them.

Etsy doesn't offer a way to "import" listings. You have to manually create each one. It's a philosophy. Etsy is supposed to be a place where artists and crafters sell unique, individual items. They do not want the propagation of listings just for the sake of selling, especially under separate shop umbrellas. You can export your listings, but that's about it.

If you have to recreate each listing I suppose that means you have to pay again for each listing too? I have almost 200 sewing patterns listed in my current shop and want to open a second shop that is exclusively for patterns. It would cost $40 to recreate 200 listings.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I was hoping that it was possible to transfer listings.

In order to have a more cohesive shop, I'd like to move some of my things to a new shop. I don't have 200 items to move, but I certainly don't want to have to pay again for listings that haven't yet expired. And recreating these listings will be time consuming.

Drat.

Very time consuming. I just manually moved items from one shop to another. Seems like there should be a more efficient way to achieve this.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I just opened a second shop today. Currently I have a multi-purpose shop, with mostly photographs and a smaller craft section. Today I opened a second shop (for better or for worse I don't know yet ... lol) with the idea of having one for my photography only and one for my crafty items only. I copied and pasted my expired craft listings in to the new one, and copied and pasted my policies as well. I'm not quite done yet, but it's certainly a slow process.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I just opened my second shop to sell my retro style jewellery and am having to list everything again.

Time consuming, but I think it will be worth it as my first shop sells knitted and crochet items. The jewellery just doesn't fit well into that shop.

The good thing is that you can copy your policies and other info about yourself over to the second shop.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

One idea that might help is to open a page in word and copy and paste your script to it so you don't have to start from scratch. Or like it seems someone else did, open two pages of Etsy and copy and paste from one to another. I have three stores and love it. But I will say that one disadvantage of opening a new store is that you don't have the following yet with "favorites" and such and so don't get as much attention as you would in your older stores.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

Thanks for your answers about this moving items. I have two shop, One vintage and one handmade and supplies. I am beginning to think I have to much variety in both shops!

I just started adding Patterns and really that is maybe a supply?? Not just vintage?
Before I get too far into it, do you think I should put it is supplies shop?

Thanks, Smiles, Cyndi

Oh, I also have My Photography in my Handmade and Supplies?

Should it be a shop of it's own???? It is so hard to keep promoting so many shops! Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Etc.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

When I do recreate a listing in my other shop, may I keep the listing in my original shop until it expires?

I have recreated with some difference in wording that I think is better.
Thanks for any replies!

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I understand Etsy's policy to not have duplicate listings in more than one shop but I want to remove 10 items from one shop and place them in my new second shop. I just don't get why this could not be something "doable" with just a bit of "smart" programming on Etsy's part!!

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

This is the one suggestion I want to make to Etsy is to develop a way for us to transfer items from one store to another. Not duplication but more as a management tool. Like the "Rearrange Tool" which is so handy. So that way, we can sort out items to go into the right stores. Let's all make this suggestion.

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I have three shops but wondering if I can merge two. Both are for quilting and cotton fabrics. One for new and the other for recycle fabrics. Both deal with quilting just different source of products. I waited for my listing to expire before I move them if I can wait. But If I can't wait I just pay the fee and deactivate and list in the other shop. I'm moving my cotton quilting fabrics from one shop to the other but I'm keeping my patterns and adding apparel fabrics like chiffon, knits and such. 1) www.etsy.com/shop/ohsewworthit, 2) www.etsy.com/shop/ohsewworthit2quilt, 3) www.etsy.com/shop/wastenautwantnaut.
Need some ideas on which way to go.
Thanks

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

I agree with everyone it is a slow process moving things from one shop to another. I have most of my items in my stationery shop and want to move all "craft" type items out of it into the new shop. It's just time consuming!

Re: How do you "move" listings from one store to another?

Hello everyone. I'm travelling from one country to another every two three years. Have 840 listings shop witch still sends money to American bank account even though I live in Spain for the last 3 years. Can't figure out a way to transfer all those listings to new shop with Spanish account. Would probably take me a year to do so :D I understand that I can't change the country on the shop. But the ability to copy images to new shop instantly deleting them in old shop would help me tremendously.
