Promoted Listings Question

My name is Michael, and I have been an Etsy Seller since October 2017.  I joined this Etsy team earlier this week, and I have a question about my Promoted Listings advertising campaign.

I sell photos of the Moon and clouds, as well as other items such as necklaces, sculptures, and pencil topper erasers.  All of my items are centered around a common theme, which is science and exploration.  I have been trying to advertise my Moon and cloud photos in particular in the past month.  Quite a few people have clicked on my ads, but none of them bought any of them from me.  I have been running my Promoted Listings ad campaigns for over a year now.  Again, same story, many clicks, but no sales from the ads.  I am curious to know why people click on my ads, but do not buy them.  Could you take a look at my shop and let me know, please?

People may just be interested in what your items actually are and your items are only being displayed when promoted so you may not have a chance to be seen unpromoted. Also, be more specific in the title of items, to the point like, dragon eraser and make sure you use all available tags in your listings. Etsy uses the title and tags for the search engine.

I haven't had much luck with promoted listings either but I do have more luck with featured listings. I notice you do not have any displayed at the top of your store. Go into your listings on the left side of your screen and click the star on four of them that you think might be the most popular. 

To see what I mean, check out my store, HerringboneVintageCo. I have 4 items featured that are green for St. Patrick's Day. 

This just might help bring traffic to your store.

Hi there, I agree with tooled leather purses post, put a bit more information in about each item, especially if you are the one taking the photographs and making the erasers and sculptures.

Try typing in your listing title, see if any other items come up and have a look at their tags and listing details.

Hi Helen,

Is there a way to see the tags used for listings on other shops? I often see products similar to mine being displayed more prominently in Etsy searches, but I haven't been able to find the tags used by those listings. I can see the listing descriptions, but not the tags used.

You can use erank the free version under integrations tab and explore whether your SEO is top notch Grade-A.  I think there also is a way to see the tags that competitors use maybe.
