Let’s test the Tags!!!

Hello I’m curious if Tags are actually keeping buyers that have reached my shop stay there?  Could someone search for petrified wood earrings please? Tell me how far down the page you find a set from Highlanddesignsart? Please!! I’ve watched my sales fall way off and it all started when they made the free shipping offer!! I elected not to have the free shipping because my product is below the $35.00 min.

Unfortunately Etsy puts the stores that do not participate in the free shipping over $35 last on the seen list.  I did not participate at first either and my average views dropped by 75% and I only had 2 sales in 2 weeks. So I gave in. My views nor sales have gone up as before this policy like Etsy said they would. But it is better than nothing.  If you participate I’m sure your views will go up.

So  HighlandDesignsArt  you have a really nice shop.  Over a 100 sales is great.  I looked at one item and you have many single word tags.  This is a waste of space.  Combine as much as possible to be more descriptive, i.e. Handmade gift can be used as one tag that gives you space for another tag.  Elaborate and you will reach more people.

I have always had free shipping so do not see a difference one way or the other because of that.  My sales in fact have been much higher in August and September due to self promotion outside of Etsy.  Are you in any facebook groups?  I find that helps a lot.

I tried my best to put tags together like (Stone Jewlery) but the system only allows minimum charters!!! Am I wrong?

First listing for your shop (not the petrified wood earrings) was listing number 64 on the page when I searched. I’m not sure what tags work best! Good luck!

Found you on the first page. The competition is fierce, you have to renew often to keep your listings up front. That helps with traffic to your store.

Your Pieces are beautiful make sure that you are not under pricing your pieces.  I went ahead and did the  search for you and out of 73 items listed  on the 1st page using the term petrified wood earrings. The first 35 are paying for ads and or  offering the free shipping.

With the tags you need to play around with them to see what works and what doesn't.  Use the  Search and Analytics under marketing section to see what search terms are used.

Some tags that you may want to give a try see how they work. Wooden Earrings,Petrified Wood, Fossil, Gemstone Jewelry, Statement earrings.

I experimented with tags a year.
Unfortunately, I can say that searching on Etsy does not work well.
Views are almost zero. This is strange. People look not only for purchase, but they look and for interest, too.

For comparison, I have other sites. They read words even in the ad itself, not just in the headline. They even read errors.
And in a day it is 5-10 views. On Etsy in a month there can be 0 views.
I put the likes several hours a day for other sellers for a year, and they put likes me.

Now I do not spend time on this.
I canceled also free shipping.
And now I have sold items that no one has watched for a year)
