Hello, everyone! So, I’m new here...and wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions. I opened up my shop recently, to sell my Handmade dreamcatchers, and other items. I’ve been nonstop researching, and learning the ins and outs of the site...because it would be my dream to have a successful shop! 2 days ago I made my first sale (eeeekk!!😁) thank goodness, because I was starting to doubt myself. I don’t have the money right now to promote with ads, and all that, and really don’t have a whole lot of connections. I made a Facebook page, and other platforms, where I can share...but I feel stuck. Also, I don’t have a real big inventory right now, because I’d like to get custom orders, but I am wondering if I should just keep making one of a kind pieces, to showcase what All I can do? I feel stuck? I think as of right now I just need to get creative and keep posting new items. Any kind of ideas and input would be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to making new friends here! My shop is called MoonlightDesigns111, if you want to check it out! Thank you all for taking the time to read this long post 😂 have a beautiful day!
Welcome! I shared your store on pintrest. Can you share mine? Thanks
Absolutely!! Thank you!
Hello and welcome!
Thank you so much!!
Hello! I'm also a newbie here and I can hardly give any useful advice on promotion, so I just wish you good luck!
Thank you so much! I just went and checked out your shop, and you’re amazing!
Thank you)
Welcome. You have a nice shop. Pinterest and Instragram drive a lot of traffic to Etsy. So be sure you share each post back to your pinterest site and send a photo to your Instagram.
You can join facebook Etsy buyers and sellers groups and list stuff you have for sale there. I started in March 2018 and once I got over 40-50 listings my sales increased for the 3D printed artist tools that I sell. My polymer clay jewelry on the other hand never sells even though it is priced very reasonably. Go figure.
A point to ponder. I find your photo's don't do justice to your product. They have too much background to them distracting from the item, IMHO. Good luck to you.
Thank you so much for the tips! I will definitely take your advice!
Hello Kristin & welcome. You have a nice shop, and, I wish you every success on your venture. As to advice, I only have a few small tidbits for you to ponder, as I have only been on Etsy a little over two (2) years. PICTURES - I agree with CleverClayShop's comment. The background for your primary listing pic(s) should be as plain & simple as possible, in order to highlight / show off your product. PRODUCTS - the more products you have, on your site, the greater your chances of making sales. PATIENCE - this is a key ingredient, especially when you have products for which there are a lot of competitors.
Good luck, happy crafting & selling, and, I hope your Etsy venture turn out to be a wonderful experience for you.
Your shop is very nice! Love the dream catchers your photos are a bit busy, but I have sold things with a bit busy photos. I found my sales went up with over 50 products and again go up when I keep my shop at over 70 products.
One thing I did was use Marmalead for a couple of months to help me find good key words to use I could look at those key words in my stats and I adjust my key words accordingly also Dave from woodlandzen has a lot of you tube videos that are very helpful.
Lastly the busiest time of the year is October, November and December so have plenty of stock to sell for the holidays.
Have a great week Bobbi from BrennetteMarie
