Hello there!!

I wasn't sure where I should introduce myself so I made a new thread! I hope you will all feel free you reply with your own stories so I can meet you all!

I am very slowly building up a semblance of a shop in my spare time while I work part time with my husband and full time as a mumma.
I think I'd go crazy without art though, and there's nothing like seeing a run of prints looking back at you after hours of cutting.

I like all kinds of art and creation as my shop reflects, but lino prints are pretty close to my heart.

To see more about me my blog is here: http://lady-proteus.blogspot.com

I would love to check out your blogs, so put them here too!!
Woo!

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Hi, just joined this team... (waves to internet friend Fiona).

I am a printmaker working with lino, although not exclusively as I also work in watercolours and mosaic. I am a member of the Gainsborough's House Printmakers in Suffolk UK and do my printing at the museum and childhood home of Thomas Gainsborough.

I have tried different types of printmaking but always come back to lino, probably because I love the simplicity and hate all those nasty chemicals other types of printmaking use!

I tend to work in a layered reduction type way and being rubbish with tools mostly use a scalpal and softcut lino :-)

look forward to checking out other team members lovely work,

Michele x

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Hello! I am new both to etsy and to printmaking. I am an architect and an artist, and until very recently thought that block printing was something far too advanced and complicated for me to try. I am so glad I was proven wrong!

Here's my blog:

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Hello ! I'm new to the team, with a newly re-opened shop. I fell in love with printmaking four years ago. Right now I don't have access to an etching studio so I'm working on relief prints from my home.
Here's my blog : http://green-martha.blogspot.fr/ It's about all my creative endeavors, not just printmaking. I'm also a seamstress who loves researching late 19th century fashion history. It's in French, with a little translation widget at the top right for your convenience.

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Doh, I already posted on this thread but forgot to add my blog:

Blog is about... my artwork (printmaking, watercolours, mosaics) my cat (Gimlet, black, serial killer), doing up our stuck-in-the-70's house, random rants about teenagers, dressmaking (my hobby) and anything that pops into my head :-)

Thanks for looking, I will try and follow back anyone who follows my blog!

Michele.

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Hello everyone,

Perhaps it would good for me to reach out to a community!

I recently joined and made little shop on Etsy. It's NamariPrints, a pun off of my surname.

I'm from orignally from rural Kentucky, but I moved to Japan not long after the disaster in 2011. I work with kids, and do printing in my spare time.

I've been doing linocuts for about seven years, but truth be told I'm not very good.

Anyway, it's a bit lonely being into linocuts here. Some of my supplies have to come from stateside, and my co-workers equate non-woodblock printing as childish craft.... *Sigh*

Nice to meet you all!

Re: Introductions & Blogs

Hi all, I've been on etsy for a bit over a year, but for 2014 I am now focusing on creating linocuts and etchings and trying to develop my shop into one with a 'proper' range/series of prints. Hoping to use this team more to get technical tips and share ideas. I blog here when I can: magpiemoonshine.blogspot.com

Hi Lino lovers! I am glad having found this team. I have been falling in love with lino cutting and now can say it has become part of my my image making process. Sometimes exclusively lino print, sometimes integrated into my other collage and watercolor works.

Wishing happy sore fingers, toned triceps and beautiful prints to all of you!

I dot have a blog but a flickr account where I share all my works: https://www.flickr.com/photos/13901617@N06/
