I spent this morning addressing a few things that I thought would be helpful for those who are new to Etsy and are wondering how to make a great listing.
Read below. I hope this helps.
1.) Photos:
When you make a listing, you need to show at least 5 to 6 photos. The more the better. 10 photos would be fantastic! Another idea is to put a 12" ruler next to the item so that people looking have an idea just how big or small the items is. Remember that they can not touch it, feel it or hold it. So with photos they can visually see in their minds the item. ( I keep a ruler next to my computer when I'm searching to buy things for my shop). Some people shop visually, others love to read in the description for comprehending what they are looking at.
2.) The title:
Try to use all 140 characters to describe the item. This way as people are searching all the listings, your description may pop out to them when they see the words associated with what they are looking for. (Try using in Etsy's search bar for items similar to yours. Click on similar items and look at the bottom of their listing. You will see what tags they use. Use them for yourself).
3.) Tags:
Use the words in your "Title" as words you use for tags. You may have to come up with a few more words or phrases. But, add all 13 tags!
What I like to do is try to think "What would I be searching for if I were looking for this item". Think like you are the customer.
PS I will be promoting your items a little later today. Once I have promoted your item I will send you a message letting you know where. Have a great day and make some sales!!!
