In this game the 1st person writes rhyming lines (long or short), followed by a WORD that the next person should use somewhere in their rhyme. If someone forgets to post a word after their poem, please feel free to use the last word in their rhyme.
Example:
1st person: There once was a cat, that got really fat
BUG
2nd person: Is that a big bug, crawling under your rug?
JUMP
No, Elizabeth; I've never heard of it. Sounds adorable though.
There have been times my husband and I were on the road, and have had to stop for either geese or a duck and ducklings. And I was so afraid they wouldn't make it across before someone hit them. But thankfully they did.
And they really stick together! There's a pond about a mile from us in the country, and we noticed last spring that one of the ducklings in the group crossing the road had a bum leg. They stopped at intervals to let the little guy catch up. It was a long wait for us but worth it!
I'm glad the little guy made it:)
PLAY
I'd like to come and play today,
But all this work gets in the way...
Please don't shed a tear of sorrow-
I'm good to go all day tomorrow!
FAINT
FAINT
I will never forget that dark dreary night,
When my heart was given such a fright.
I was walking passed the graveyard there.
A faint, mysterious noise I could hear.
My darn curiosity got the best of me.
So I got a little closer just to see
I stood upon a grave that was very old
And what I heard made me oh so cold.
"Help Me" "Help Me" a faint voice said
I knew whoever it was must long be dead.
A faint tap-tapping was coming from down below
I had to rescue that person, don't you know?
I had no shovel, so I dug with my hands 'til they bled
My dirty fingers had turned a bright crimson red
Finally, I reached the long moldy box made of wood
Above it now, I cautiously, cautiously stood.
I lifted the lid, and what did my eyes see?
Nothing and nobody looking back at me.
I have turned into Poe! I won't sleep tonight:)
SYMPATHY
Wowzers!! That was creepy!
Man, you really have a knack for this. BRAAAAAVO!
@OpenVintagePreserve @QuailRidgeBlessings Not even in a "ghost hunting" TV program somebody digs in a cemetery and with bare hands.
LOL!!!
SYMPATHY
The sympathy I feel
can be seen as real
in these old words I steal:
“Who put the bomp in the bomp-sh-bomp-sh-bomp?
Who put the ram in the ramma-lamma-ding-dong?”
LAUGH
You are too funny:) LOL
Love it!
I think it was Sandy and Danny in Grease.
SYMPATHY
How could I feel sympathy
For such as irresponsibility
To disconnect the electricity
In all the country.
Another conspiracy?
Or action with negativity
It's impractically
And may affect some people physically.
I love this:)
Great job, Ana!
Laugh
It's healthy to laugh each day
It helps to drive the sad away.
It feeds your brain with dopamine,
Which makes your thoughts so pristine.
A grin and a laugh go hand in hand.
It makes you draw a heart in the sand.
So laugh each day like it's your last
Let go of bad feeling from the past.
HUNGRY
I can hardly put 4 lines together, lol. I'm impressed!
Hungry
So hungry
Nothing to eat
No fruit, vegetables
Certainly no meat
Out on the prowl
In the still of the night
I'll settle for anything
And relish that bite
(Man, sounds like a whiny vampire)
Chum
That is COOL!!!
CHUM
Dear chums
We don't need Zoom
To gather and be awesome,
Enjoy a pie plum
Or a glass of rum.
Our age does not matter
Geographical location
Nor the time either.
With mutual respect we chatter,
Opinion
and laughter.
Emoji or not emoji
Holy caw, caw holy
Chums we are
Here sharing a cookie jar.
Next word: sales.
Totally Awesome!!
Go Ana; this is fantastic!
SALES
She had so many sales today
To Tom and Joan and Betsy
She thought perhaps to quit her job
And go full time on Etsy!
