In this game the 1st person writes rhyming lines (long or short), followed by a WORD that the next person should use somewhere in their rhyme. If someone forgets to post a word after their poem, please feel free to use the last word in their rhyme.
Example:
1st person: There once was a cat, that got really fat
BUG
2nd person: Is that a big bug, crawling under your rug?
JUMP
So much conveyed in so few words. Chilling to have lived through and emotional to return, I imagine, Elizabeth.
Ceru, we still have that apartment- it just took us many many years to muster the emotional strength to walk downtown and visit it. It's cavernous in size with epic ceiling height, deep below Manhattan. Dinosaur sized twisted girders, bashed firetrucks and cars and so much more. There were hundreds of people, but as quiet as a library. Incredibly moving @Former_Member
Elizabeth, thank you for giving a sense of this, it’s overwhelming. At the end of May, I just read, they are opening a new Memorial Glade there honouring those affected by illness. @ElizabethRosenArt
@ElizabethRosenArt I can understand the need to muster the strength to walk downtown, Elizabeth. The fact that you were right there; terrible and surreal.
There are some thoughts rather deep
That into my mind can creep
Like the noise of a jeep
They keep me from sleep
alone
Look at the stone
out in my yard
he's often alone
does that make him so hard?
The rain over years
will soften him - and
before you can tell
he'll turn into sand!
Now look at the sand
and the children play
No one's alone
having fun all day...
birds
Birds in the bush
building a nest
fly back and forth
no time to rest.
Then lay the eggs
over them brood.
Then hatchlings peep
Piping for food.
Renew
I like to renew my view with a few blue hues
Bank
bank
My Mother had a piggy bank, so many years ago.
She got the coins out with a comb from small slot down below.
We'd sit for hours rolling pennies 'til our fingers stank.
Then got into the car to drive ten dollars to the bank.
Wing
I hope you will not mind.. this game I just find..
All happy hearts take flight
like a bird on its wing
allow your soul to sing
wish with all your might..
to see the world.. a beautiful sight.
HOPE
My mind is filled with hope
As I attempt to tie that rope
Then made several attempts to lassoo
But couldn't quite reel in YOU.
FIRE
@ChillwolfArt I am an easy catch.. a bottle of Black Velet & two straws will do it. (Very Much Happy to see you here.)
@Desertstamps LOL; Thank You very much; it's great to see you too and fun to be back here :)
poetry of fire
hot flames climbing higher
fling into its deep
dreams that you can keep
feel the rising heat
fears that you can beat
singe away the fear
hold the comfort dear
WIND
The wind that blew through late last night,
Turned wood chairs upside down.
It shook off all the pear tree blossoms,
Blew them 'cross the ground.
It shrieked through windows not quite closed,
A haunting, hellish yell.
Then left as quick as it arrived,
And back to sleep we fell.
Morning
It is a new morning Dan, let it be a warning
Time to change your Mourning into..
adorning thoughts of promises never scourning.
AAGGGHHH!!! Sorry I forgot to leave a next rhyme Word..
Please use
FORGOT
Thank you Dan! If anyone forgets, Lori sagely suggested to just use the last word in the poem above, so everyone is covered when they forget- which does happen!!
Thank You Elizabeth !! It is Cinco de Mayo here in the Desert & I did not want you & my team mates to think I have been drinking Taquilla & Dos XX cuervas for the past 3 hours. (LOL)
Forgot
One self-absorbed mouse
Forgot it’s manners
In close company
Tapping out letters
Those friendships are
Now all in tatters
From which it learnt
What really matters
TELESCOPE
TELESCOPE
Telescope the worries -
let them yonder fly -
play them like a fishing line -
tangled in a sigh.
Celebrate the kindness -
circling round about -
telescope the stresses -
let the joy come out.
