This is a designated chat room for all of us game room groupies! A great place to hang out, ask questions or just get to know each other. A great big thanks to Jane and Elizabeth for getting our games back running again. XOXOXO
Enjoy!

@OpenVintagePreserve That is wonderful; Congratulations, Jane!
The Best has yet to come.. Very Proud of you Jane.
WooHoo! CONGRATULATIONS, Jane @OpenVintagePreserve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay, Jane.
Thanks, everybody! :)
Happy Memorial Day everyone! Be safe and have fun.
Thank You to all who serve; and to those who have fallen. For your selfless sacrifce to keep us safe.
Great sentiment, Cheryl. I concur!!!!!
Bless You Cheryl.. Us all.. I remember too, on my desk infront of me is my parents wedding picture. My father (a WWII veteran is in his uniform.) He went 'up the boot' if you do not know that means.. ask any Old School gentleman.
Congrats, Jane!
We walked around the lake near here today and saw pelicans, about 8 of them. That's always fun! I always look forward to them coming back to the area in the spring, but I was a little late this year getting in a walk, I'm sure others have seen them.
Thank you to all of our service men and women. My father and uncles all fought in WWII and brother committed to two tours of duty in Vietnam Nam. Nephews also volunteered their service. I am thankful they all returned. One of my husband’s uncles did not. Bless them.
Sit down by the desk, look around, see the piles of papers to work - mail to answer, letters to write, projects to write, even a shopping list to write.
Ah, let us go to the forums. They are more entertained!
Gmail is down, at least in my area of the US, but also in some other countries. They are working on it.
I had composed a long email to a friend, and when I hit send, it went away but didn’t send. I’m hoping that, when Gmail is back up, it will be sent or will be findable.
Ouch. I hope so too Jane. We just had severe rain with some hail - I was working on my digital stuff on my computer - and wouldn't you know, the power blipped and turned off my computer. Thankfully I only lost one page I was working on and so I just redid that one, this time saving it as I went along. Quitting for the afternoon in case it happens again. I'm hoping the power stays on so I can get dinner cooked!
It’s back on, and apparently it did send the email, so I’m relieved. :)
Picture from 100th Birthday Party:
Thank You, @ElizabethRosenArt for the instructions. Kinda BIG....but it showed up!
Hey Nora, I looked yesterday and today, but I don't see your photo. So looking forward! Is it still above for you? There was a photo I pasted for Ceruian to see once, that was there, then disappeared for a while and then returned. There's no telling around here! @TimeAndAgainFashions
Hi @ElizabethRosenArt -- Weird. The photo is there for me. Has been continuously since I posted it.
I can’t see it either. But I also can’t see some people’s avatars, so.... It’s buggy.
Happy Magna Carta day!! On June 15, 1215, King John of England put his seal on the document at Runnymeade.
Of course, as soon as he could get away from his barons, the king proceeded to ignore Magna Carta’s provisions, stomp on everyone’s rights, and generally cause mayhem. He gave up England’s holdings in mainland Europe (except for Calais), lost the Crown Jewels while running away, and weakened England’s position and power in the world.
But once it was sealed into law, Magna Carta’s existence brought growing strength to restrict over-zealous English monarchs over the centuries.
So yay for the barons!
Thanks for the history lesson, Jane @OpenVintagePreserve
You’re welcome, Nora! I’m such a history geek.... LOL!
Thanks for alerting us, Jane. Related story: due to King Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries in the sixteenth century, one Magna Carta manuscript lost it’s protected home and was eventually found at King’s School, Somerset, in 1936. From there it came to Australia (purchased in 1952), where it’s usually on display at Parliament House, Canberra. This is the issue you mention that was finally placed on the statutes in 1297, with revisions from the 1215 document and having four known surviving copies. @OpenVintagePreserve
Thanks, Ceruiean! I didn’t know that.
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Fourth of July!
Thank You to all of our military; those who are gone and those still here; and to your families. You have sacrificed so much to keep us safe, and we honor you.
