Buying a Laser Cutter?

I don't actually do laser cutting (yet), but was hoping I could get some info on it from people who do. Where could one be bought, and how much would a low-end one cost to start out with? How does it work? Any help is appreciated!

Re: Buying a Laser Cutter?

I bought my laser about 6 months ago and have loved every minute of using it. I am just starting out and trying to find that magic item! In the meantime, I'm having a blast figuring out what it can do. So to answer your question, I got one from Hurricane Lasers. I didn't need american made, but I like the idea of having local support, so that's what made me decide on them. They are considerably cheaper than the American Models and where I was just starting, I decided it was not quite as much of a risk. I haven't regretted it. Hope this helps. Any questions, just ask!

Re: Buying a Laser Cutter?

I got an Epilog Mini a few months ago and its been amazing. I used to work a lot with universals and for small crafts I think the Epilog does a better job.

Let me know if you have more questions!
