Etsy Success Tips

Hi again! I'd hate to see this team get stagnant already, so here's another one to get the socialization going. :) Some of you are seasoned Esty-ers and some of you are newbies like me. I think one thing we can all agree on is that we are here to support and help each other out with tips and advice. Please share anything you think will be helpful.

Re: Etsy Success Tips

I have found that adding a link back to your own shop in each listing is great. It helps increase overall shop traffic.

Re: Etsy Success Tips

I started a Facebook page also, just to help with links back to the Etsy shop. It has some cool statistics that let me see how many people are reading my posts, etc. I'm not sure how it will fare over the long run, but right now it's getting the word out at least amongst my friends and family. I've had a few friends join Etsy just to purchase a yarn bowl, and that's not only good for me, but for all of us on Etsy.

Re: Etsy Success Tips

I'm still new to Etsy, but one thing that I keep seeing (and hearing on other sites as well) is that BNR/BNS treasuries are a great way to boost sales and encourage more traffic to stores. I keep wanting to take the plunge, but I am aware that what I sell lives in a very niche market that could make it difficult for me to be successful alongside earrings, beads, and wedding favors. I keep looking for a BNR that seems to appeal to fiber lovers but can't find one.

So-- I know this group seems to be a little bit stagnant right now but I'll ask anyway-- does anyone else think that getting a BNR/BNS That centers on fiber related item (yarn, roving, tools, patterns, yarn bowls, etc) would be beneficial? It would cater to all the spinners and crocheters out there as well as knitters.

Anyhow, I would love to see if there's any interest in this.
(I would have started a new thread, but I'm not sure if that's allowed!)

Re: Etsy Success Tips

Hi everyone, I am excited about working with wool ( and silk and alpaca too) in all sorts of ways. We have lots of great merino wool in Australia and its fun being inventive in different ways to use it. I have just started my etsy shop but have had a retail shop for 30 years. Its called Bunyas Organics and Antiques so I have called my etsy shop bunyasatmilton. Bunyas are an ancient tree we have here and Milton is the name of our little town.
I just did a great felting workshop with Mareijoleine from Bloomfelt which was absolutely fantastic so I am inspired to make more sculptural felted pieces now and would love to share ideas on creating and promoting woollen pieces
best wishes
Susan C
