So I was dropping off my products at a store that sells them for me in my area and I was talking to the sales girl and asked if they had heard of CPSIA. She said no, and I gave what info I could.

I just got a call from the owner of the store and she left me a voice mail. She left a message saying that the materials I buy should have already been tested and I shouldn't have to worry about it (the products they sell for me have tulle, eco- felt, ribbon..) . From what I've read, this isn't the case and I should be worried. What info can I give her to show her whats going on? She gave the "you don't really know what your talking about" kind of message :(

Yup, this has happened to me too. I think because it's so ridiculous, no one believes it.

It has also happened to me. I guess I look at it this way: I tried! And if they aren't worried about it, neither am I. I think we all know that the chances of the feds coming in and busting a store selling "untested" baby goods is slim to none.

If they are okay with purchasing your products, GO FOR IT! :) I have a good feeling that by August they'll really be a-okay anyway.

Yes, I've gotten the same response... today I got "well I guess those handmade things won't be so expensive anymore"

It's so ridiculous no one thinks it could be true.
