Re: crystals

Yes, they need to be tested and NO the lead content is not low enough - they will fail.

Re: crystals

Celestial Crystal sells lead safe crystals. FMG has them here:

Re: crystals

Swarovski crystals have a high lead content, but they are doing their best the keep that on the D.L It only has to be tested if it's geared for children age 12 or younger.

Urghh, so the fact that the lead is not absorbed ended up not being considered in the law. Bah.

You want a lot of lead in lead crystal, that's what makes it awesome. Celestial Crystal just isn't the same. :(

Re: crystals

What about vaseline glass...2% decaying uranium and glow like hell under UV blacklight. Can't imagine that's allowed in CPSIA unless they're really just hellbent on lead and nothing else. lol

I am so glad I don't gear any of my stuff towards children. Though I'm tempted to put the disclaimer "people ate off Uranium glass in the 1890's and they're all dead."

Re: crystals

It is kind of silly about lead content in crystal, as it is completely inert..choking hazard perhaps..
