As for lead in earrings- if it is contained in the ear wire and the plating (which presumably does not contain lead)comes loose then yes it theoretically could enter the body. It would have to take a bit of open skin to expose it to the blood stream.... MY EAR WIRES are lead free...
However the swarovski rhinestone cyrstals I use to decorate them definately contain lead as they are lead crystals. You would need to put the crystals in your mounth to get lead contamination in your body, however, if you were to touch the crystal and it flaked.. then put your fingers in your mouth or handle food that could cause lead contamination.
