Yup. RN#s are actually required by the textile industry for many different kinds of products. They are easy to get and free, if I remember correctly.

If I am ever going to ship my items outside the United States, I will need to get mine. Until then, I procrastinate. I think its the idea of becoming a number rather than a name on my tags.

You can still have your name on your tags but you don't need to add the extra CPSIA on it- just the care facts.

Such businesses are not required to have RNs. They may, however, use the RN in place of a name on the label or tag that is required to be affixed to these products.

1.the fiber or fur content;
2.the business name -- or other identification issued and registered by the Commission -- of the manufacturer, importer, distributor, or seller; and
3.the country of origin.

I did this last week and it was very fast. They emailed me my RN# within a few days. (I thought it would come through the mail, so I was surprised to see it via email)

I am going to do this...looking at the form....we are considered a retailer if we sell on etsy, correct? Versus a manufacturer. If a LLC do we use our full personal name as our legal name istead of our company name. Any help appreciated. Thanks! I am just getting started here on etsy.
