I am so lost with this and want to make sure I am doing everything right. Any ideas on where to purchase the tags? I have looked on etsy and have found some that look good...
Some more looking up: I guess you make the labels yourself (or order them at an etsy shop that makes lables) - but don't take my word for it. I was just reading around this threat: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6325774
FayeMaloneDesigns - just wrote to you on the other threat about CPSIA as well - seems like quite a few of us are having the same questions and uncertainties and you are very knowledgeable.
I just looked up the Painted Treasures. My problem is that my items (snack bags) will be washed, even in the machine, and probably the ink won't stay on if I print labels myself. Any suggestions?
HP says their ink is permanent once it dries. I heat set mine after printing just to be sure. Also, just got some Bubble Jet Set 2000 that is supposed to be great for making the ink stay in. Haven't tried it yet as I bought a roll of fabric already treated for printing on and love how it turned out.
I haven't had any problem, but I let it dry, wash out excess ink, and then heat set. Course if someone used bleach, I don't know what would happen. But my woven care labels say, machine wash cold water, tumble dry kiwm remove promptly No Bleach.
The paper backing that was originally on the fabric when it went thru the printer is removed, saved and after the ink has set/dried, you have rinsed any excess ink out, air dried the fabric, you place the original backing paper over the inked side and iron with a hot iron.
