Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

OK! I got some good news and some bad news! The good news is that I have my CPSIA labels to sew on my baby booties! The bad news is that I don't know where in the world to put them on my tiny newborn booties like these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/50109687/newborn-yellow-and-white-baby-booties any suggestions?

They are very adorable! Can you put the tags inside or just sew them on the outside and let the buyer cut them off?

I would sew them on the tongue of the bootie, they look like little sneakers. Very cute!

Right or wrong, and by whose standards, I don't know. I put my labels on string tied into the booties, usually on the drawstring.

Re: Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

I've bought commercially made sandals for my son where the tag was attached to the sole. Then I cut them off. Unless you want to use a label for promotional reasons as well, I think it's a good option.

Too cute! I agree with attaching somehow so they can be cut off.

I read somewhere (and i could be very wrong so please dont quote me on this) that if the item was small enough that a label would effect its use or how it looks then you could put all the info on a ticket and im sure i saw baby booties come under this.

You are correct. So for little booties, attach a tag with all the needed information. This applies also to things like hair bows, and children's jewelry.

Re: Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

I brand the bottom of my shoes, as Iunderstand it, it's necessary for customer to be able to find you, they can by googling my name. I put the date, materials and local on a hang tag. But since leather uncoated is exempt, it's not for lead laws, but labelling laws.

Re: Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

I agree with honeybee69. Sewing it on the tongue like sneakers seems the way to go. Etsy did a recent article on micromarketing-branding your item with your shop name so people can find you easily. I just wouldn't make the tag look so huge and obtrusive. A bit tricky with tiny booties. They're adorable, by the way.

Re: Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

I attach mine to the inside of the side of the bootie. That way it is seen and can be cut off easily if the parent chooses to. Just make sure it is securely attached, hang tags do not count!

Re: Tiny Baby Booties...where do I put the label

Do you all hand-stitch the labels into booties? My stitching isn't that great and it's nearly impossible to use a machine on the little booties

I place mine on the inside ankle (where the little white circle is on the booties in my avatar.) Otherwise for the ones that don't have sides I put it on the inside sole.
