Think I finally got labels & records...

I've created a system for records. It includes:

Item numbering system with subsets of Product, Style, Fabric, Category & Option.
An example is Nursing Necklace, Fabric & Beads, Brown Chevron, Wood Ring, Beeswax sealed.

This example give me an item number of 000A1000A1008 (each category has it's own 3 digit letter/number combination & 999 is a null value)

To create my batch or run number I take this item number and add to the end my date of manufacture in the format of MMYYYY. So if I made the example above today it would have a batch number of 000A1000A1008092014.

Each time I manufacture an item I will assign this number to the item & record it on my Item content sheet that has columns corresponding to the number for headings I chose "Style (wood beads & ribbon closure), Fabric (brown chevron), Category (includes a wood ring) & Option (the ring was sealed). With this content sheet I will record component information such as where & when it was purchased.

This number will be part of my CPSIA tracking label on either my product or the packaging or both in accordance to the proper regulation for the specific item. My tracking label will also contain my company name, location & date of production & any other cohort info that I consider helpful. This means the label for my example would look like this:

iPuke, Inc.
USA, Panama
Batch# 000A1000A1008092014

Each time I sell something the transaction will go into my record of sales. This will contain purchaser last name, purchaser first name, order number (Etsy, eBay or whatever) date of sale & batch number.

If my tracking label is not part of the actual product I will record the item number and reason(s) that follow CPSIA regulations as to why my label is not a permanent marking but rather part of the packaging.

NOTE** I currently do not sell anything that falls under the FTC as far as my understanding of the law I read.

All of these records re contained in an Excel workbook.
Have I overlooked or overdone anything?
