No, our government isn't mad. We have people here in the U.S. that stay up all night worrying how us plain folks will get along without government intervention.We're pretty much incapable of thinking things through ourselves.We can't read labels or keep small articles from being ingested by our children.We have no common sense.We need help with everything.Most of the time we are pretty good lambs and allow ourselves willingly to be led to the slaughter.I don't know why people are up in arms about this.What's the big deal of losing a hundred thousand small businesses or so? Who's it going to hurt? Our government will take care of us.We kinda like it.That way, we don't have to think.

I am not in the US but Canada, who follow suit a lot of the time.

Ok, so what about people who have creative minds without seeing another persons work and they come up with the same - without knowing?

I will tell you why.
I designed an item, and found one almost the same and I had never ever seen it before, I am too busy making things.

What about the computer industry, granola bars.
We all need food, clothing etc.
Without our designs and 'copycatting' per se, how are we all going to survive!!

They are the individuals who were voted into office by the majority American people. The majority of the American voters apparently wanted more government controls and programs, and they certainly got them.

And don't forget that you and I are the ones paying not only for their salaries, but for the costs or running these programs and implementing these laws.

First the CPSIA, then the FSMA, now this... I would disagree, NOSSUBGALLERY. I don't think people actually WANT more government control. Too many people are busy living life, raising kids, working, that they don't really think about it (that was me, pre-CPSIA). The thought of what's next (Cap and Trade, nationalized health care, yadda yadda) makes me more than a little frightened for my kids and their futures.

We all need to be ready to vote and when we vote know for sure what we are voting for. Really do your homework. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck, even if it swears it's not.
These laws are hideous and outrageous.
