Still Selling?

I apologize if this has already been addressed - I've been out of the etsy loop for a bit and although I did look extensively through past posts, I did not find the answer to my question.

In addition to looking over posts, I've been browsing stores. It looks like people are still actively selling their baby items. Is this accurate...?

The CPSC, who is responsible for implementing & enforcing CPSIA, issued a stay of enforcement for 1 year. So yes, many of us are continuing to sell, while issues continue to get discussed and hopefully resolved.

but, the majority of us are also compliant... we've done a lot of footwork, and writing and getting compliance statements from our suppliers.

i think that most every store that knows about the law, has gone the extra mile to make sure they are selling safe kids items.

Yup, what stacey said. I have worked to make sure all my items are safe. Heck, my kids wear/use them, too. I took a few things out of my shop (with buttons or zippers) until I can make sure those are safe too. Everything else is safe (and colorful and fun).

I think that everybody here wants to make safe kid items, we just don't want to be put out of business in the process.

I grow my own fibres and know there is no lead or phalates in any of my materials!

I pulled all my vintage and antique items that were originally intended for a child 12 or under. In California we have an AG who is all for prosecuting this law.
