So I make and sell cloth diapers...

I found here: http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/smbus/cpsiasbguide.pdf
that is says this:
I use cotton interlock, hemp, wool, and bamboo fabrics. the elastic is encased and I use poly resin snaps.
What do you think? do I need to test?
I don't think so.
I just need the dumb label right?

it says:
These materials or components can be used (separately or in combination) and sold (provided they have
not been treated or altered or undergone any processing that could result in the addition of lead):
Dyed or undyed textiles (cotton, wool, hemp, nylon, yarn, etc.), including
children's fabric products, such as baby blankets, and non-metallic thread and trim. This does not include products that have rhinestones or other ornaments that may contain lead or that have fasteners with possible lead content (such as buttons, metal snaps, zippers or grommets)

Re: So I make and sell cloth diapers...

IMO the snaps would need the testing info. Best to check directly with the CPSC's Small Business Ombudsman at http://www.cpsc.gov/businfo/smbus.html with your questions. That office should be able to inform you about matters directly related to the CPSC and CPSIA concerning your products specifically plus direct you to any other USA federal agencys that maybe involved with the types of products you choose to sell to US customers.

And do realize that we don't live on the internet, nor do we live on Etsy. If you don't get an immediate answer, it doesn't mean we aren't going to try to address your question. Take a deep breath and try to get a grip on the issue. It may seem like this is a new issue of gigantic proportions to your business, but it is really about 30 months old, and we have been dealing with it for that long.

Depends on where you got the snaps, but everything else should be okay. You just need the label. I've been using the labels for over a year now on my diapers and clothing. If you got your snaps from KAM, then I believe they have a certificate you should be able to get a copy of saying that they have been testing and are approved.
