Snaps

Should we not use snaps on Bibs anymore? I was looking to order some just now, and the site said for adult clothing only.

Re: Snaps

I don't remember off hand. I typed in Pearl snaps, and it was one of the first to come up. It just made me think that they tested the snaps and it had high levels of lead. Remember, I am just making an assumption!

Re: Snaps

KAM resin snaps have an OekoTex cetification of "no harmful substances" - I have a PDF on that one if you need it.

Snap Source has tested their snaps - see this site:
http://www.snapsource.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.php

Prym (also known as Dritz) has a site where you can type in the product number or UPC code to see if the package of snaps you have is compliant or not:
http://gcc.dritz.com/

Maybe that will help. Of course, you could be right about those snaps you originally looked for. I haven't checked my ones from Tandy Leather, but I have a feeling they're "not for children" either.

Re: Snaps

Lots of companies have put this disclaimer on their sites, even if their product doesn't contain lead. Contact them before you buy, and see what they say.
