I think everyone wants a child to be safe. We don't want them to be harmed in any way. But as a maker of dolls, I use care with every little piece of that doll. I don't want to give up creating and selling them. And the same with my tooth fairy pillows. I am 71 years old. I raised four kids. I made lots of their toys. I think where the problem is is with the importers. So why can't these laws be aimed specifically to them. I am not an importer.
When you think about it, there are a million things in a house that a child could get ahold of and be harmed by. Think of all the things kids could get their hands on. As parents, and grandparents, we have to teach kids. If we allow this law to happen, we are shuting down on continuing our customs and traditions. No more rag dolls. No more tooth fairy pillows. They are a part of our culture. Why do we want a law to pull those from us.
You shopowners made it to the age you are now. Your parents protected you by using good common sense in what they gave you. Let's stand on our own two feet and be realistic and take control of our rights to create. But more than anything, let's not let fear prevail. Let's write our congressmen. Let's make a noise. Let's not lose our freedom.
If you want an eye opener, go onto to government recalls. Items you are using every day. Your whole family is using. It will scare the dickens out of you!
