I've done a couple thread/countless posts on this topic too. It's important that you use the form she linked rather than just an email. (according to the call I got back from the SBA)Then you will then be assigned a case number.

I was able to bring up the page earlier today but just went back to the link to actually fill the form out and can no longer get it. Maybe they got overwhelmed and took the form down?

It's also critical that you check the "NO" box so your cmplaint WILL NOT be confidential (near the bottom of the SBA Ombusman form). Otherwise, they cannot use your testimony to present your case in the upcoming hearing with the CPSIA.

The SBA seems quite displeased that the CPSC suspended requisite hearing & comment time periods per the Regulatory Flexibility Act of 1980 that protects small businesses (even a business of one person) from burden & cost of excessive mandates and fines. I hope they present our POV convincingly and fair, positive changes come asap.

I just spoke with an SBA agent.

They are in complete agreement that it is ridiculous that end users should be required to test.

Additionally, they also agree that products should comply before they get to distribution.

They are very concerned and are speaking daily with CPSIA people.

Keep it up.

The main point to get across as clearly as possible is that this law should target importers and manufactures NOT end users. Products should comply PRIOR to getting to wholesale and retail distribution.

The other point to get across is that will devastate small business, micro business and home business at a time that this country can least afford that to happen.

The person I spoke with said that the CPSA has been put in a bad spot and in the middle with no funding and no staffing and they do see the issues clearly.

Their hands are tied because since this is a current law it needs to be retracted or amended and only Congress can do that.
