Question about baby clothes

I do a lot of embroidery on Ts for my daughter and she LOVES it. Her teacher at preschool said I ought to make some onesies and sell those. So, my question is, if I buy a Gerber onesie and embroider on it with 100% cotton DMC embroidery floss, do I have to have it tested?

Thanks!

Re: Question about baby clothes

The answer is yes and no. Yes technically but as of right now there is a one year stay on testing so that means we have one year before they decide if we actually do have to test or if our certifications from our suppliers are enough. So with that said no you do not have to test but you DO have to be 100% sure your items are free of lead and phosphates and thus you must have certification from the companies whose products you are using stating that they tested and past each component that you are using. You need one from Gerber, one from the fabric company and one from the thread company. This is all if you want to be legal.
