The CPSIA was passed in August 2008. The lead content limits, which are one part of the CPSIA, go in to effect on February 10th, 2009.

Re: OK I'm confused!!!!!!

thank you, cleverkitty...does this mean we have to test every material or supply that we use? & if so, how do we do this, if it isn't mentioned that it's lead free in the product description.

Re: OK I'm confused!!!!!!

Starting February 10th, you have to have a "reasonable testing method" in place, and a GCC (general conformity certificate) on file for each product.

Starting August 14th, you have to have each product (final product, not material or supply) tested by a third-party CPSC certified lab.
