Non-approved colorants in cosmetics

I bought a set of "eyeshadows" in good faith here on Etsy quite some time ago, and later on realized they were actual neon colorants, and not approved for cosmetic use, yet they were sold as EYESHADOWS (including a note in the advertisment/listing saying you should use them as an eyeliner).

She also resold the set but here said they weren't approved for eye-use, which is yet another lie, as they aren't approved for cosmetic use at all.

I found out that she'd sold me soap dyes, but I found this out too late. I couldn't get my money back from paypal, and I don't know if I have the nerves to contact her, as her fanbase is somewhat ... fanatic and scares me.

Re: Non-approved colorants in cosmetics

If someone is using products in makeup that should not be used that way please gather all your info first, then contact the seller to voice your concerns. Her "fanbase" can not read a private message between the two of you. If you have legitimate concerns, ask the seller. Only then, if you do not recieve an answer, or recieve one that is hostile in nature, bring it up to Etsy.

Re: Non-approved colorants in cosmetics

Just so you know, you're not allowed to "call out" a seller like this- I was easily able to figure out who you are talking about through feedback. A google search revealed you are not the only one who has had this issue with this seller.

I'm not sure what you are looking to accomplish in posting this here- but if you are asking what you can do to get your money back, you are at the mercy of the seller since it's been too long to go through Paypal. So your only option is to contact them. I would think, regardless of how "fanatical" some of their customers may be, that if you contacted the seller and very politely and calmly explained your concerns, you may get a more positive response than you are expecting. If this seller did screw up and sell you something she shouldn't have, I'd imagine she'd want to make amends? No one wants unhappy customers out there in the world.
